In addition, he dedicates a portion of his practice to estate administration and internet law issues.

Garrett earned his J.D. and LL.M (Masters in Taxation) from Temple University School of Law where his area of concentration was tax and business law. As a law student he was inducted as a member of Temple’s Rubin Public Interest Law Honor Society in recognition of his outstanding community service and was honored for his efforts on behalf of community business owners through the Temple Small Business Center where he provided free legal services. Garrett continues to stay involved in the community by providing free tax preparation to qualified individuals with the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program and volunteering with Philly VIP. His ongoing efforts were recently recognized by The First Judicial District of Pennsylvania for his exemplary commitment to pro bono representation of low income individuals in the greater Philadelphia area.

A graduate of Penn State University’s Smeal College of Business, Garrett spent time working with clients as a financial advisor for Ameriprise Financial and several years drafting and negotiating contracts in the pharmaceutical industry for INC Research prior to returning to law school. Before joining Erblaw, he served as a law clerk under the Honorable Albert J. Cepparulo at the Court of Common Pleas of Bucks County and worked with Dechert, LLP in Philadelphia as a consultant attorney on various corporate litigation matters.

In addition to his law practice, Garrett is an adjunct faculty member of Delaware Valley University, located in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. There he teaches Corporate Taxation, Federal Income Taxation, Financial Planning and Estate Planning to the college’s business and accounting students. He has also served as a guest lecturer at Temple Law on international tax issues and presents regularly to his peers on tax, business and estate planning related topics for various organizations, including the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and National Business Institute.

Garrett is a member of the bars of Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court.
