Translation Services

One important part of our job is the review and translation of German-language documents into English. Now we also offer those review and translation services to you, for your legal, regulatory, or other documents.

Why only German to English? Frankly, the most effective translators, like the most effective attorneys, focus on what they know best. As native English speakers, we can translate even the toughest documents, but we do it best into our own mother tongue.

Our experience includes:

• Translate and summarize German patents for use in developing new processes and as part of a larger review of documents for ongoing litigation

• Summarize hundreds of German documents in preparation for litigation and develop a database for multiuser, real-time access by a team of litigators

• Review and translate official government documents for use in immigration filings

• Translate letters and court briefs for review by American and other non-German clients in ongoing disputes involving German companies

• Translate technical documentation for compressor systems

• Manage and coordinate the production of technical and legal documentation in multiple languages

Not only can we review and/or summarize German legal and technical documents, and translate documents from German into English, we offer more. Our technical skills allow us to:

• Work in and preserve your format, no matter what it is

• Prepare and edit documents in XML using Framemaker or HTML using BBedit or Adobe GoLive

• Format documents or summaries for use in databases such as Microsoft Access, Filemaker Pro, and MySQL

• Generate pdf files, complete with links, bookmarks, and other navigation aids

• Prepare and format longer documents, including side-by-side documents featuring both English and German text

• Prepare translations for use on the web or on other online systems

Our in-house capabilities are extensive, however, we also work closely with a multimedia production company to ensure that your media, whether intended for print, online, or multi-purpose, comes out the way you want it to.
