Best Restaurants in Philadelphia
Chris Erb
Effie's. Wonderful Greek food, sit in the tiny courtyard in summer or eat next to the nice wood stove in winter.
Sang Kee. Delicious, straightforward Chinese food in Chinatown.
Dmitri's. A seafood-heavy BYOB south of South Street, try the fried octopus.
Marra's. The best pizza in the city, if not the country, this is the real South Philly.
La Locanda del Ghiottone (or whatever it's called today). Another great BYOB, the closest thing to a Tuscan trattoria you're going to find, if it's too full try their other restaurant, Il Cantuccio.
Kelly Phillips Erb
Effie's. I could eat the warm pita bread all day. It's BYOB, which means you'll save a buck or two... So try the coffee and baklava for dessert! Very cozy.
Bistro San Tropez. The view is amazing. The food is even better. Very romantic.
Spring Mill Cafe. Another BYOB. The food is amazing and the menu rotates depending on where the chef has been traveling. Definitely something for everyone, from game to vegetarian.
Susanna Foo. The best Chinese food in the world. Upscale, so be prepared to spend some money. Unlike some other restaurants on the row, worth the extra money!
Marrakesh. If you're looking for atmosphere, look no further. Belly dancing and eating with your hands? It's simply divine.
Madeline Martin
Jones - corner of 7th and Chestnut. Comfort food w/ a chic flare. Everything from mac n' cheese and deviled eggs to hazelnut crusted filet mignon. Dinner, weekday lunch and weekend brunch. No reservations.
New Wave - South 3rd. American fare with Asian undertones.
Bamboo Club - King of Prussia Mall, at the Pavilion. Pacific rim fare - served family style. Yes it's a chain, but it's yummy.
Illumnaire - Fairmount, Art Museum area. Italian Ristorante - brick oven pizzas, and yummy pasta. beautiful courtyard seating. Reservations taken.
Rouge. Rittenhouse Square. Bistro French. Dark, ultra chic, unbelievably small tables. No reservations.

La Michocana Taqueria & Bar, 301 East Main Street, Norristown, PA...across the street from the August Moon. This is a wonderful, little authentic Mexican Restaurant with a very nice decor. It is rather inexpensive and the service is first rate.
Stonewell, Ridge Ave in Conshohocken/Plymouth Meeting. On the opposite side of the road from The Outback, next to Burger King. This is a Korean/Japanese Restaurant. The family who runs this restaurant is so incredibly nice, it is unbelievable. The food is great and you can bring your own bottle.
The Ugly Moose, Shurs Lane, Roxborough. They have parking. Parking in the Manayunk/Roxborough area!!! Parking, I said. The hamburgers are great. Try the Saga Blue Cheese Burger...unless you don't like Saga Blue Cheese.
Dragon City Pizza, 9th and Race. Small, not the cleanest, but nice people and great pizza. Try the buffalo chicken pizza. It has surpassed Jake's Pizza on Broad and Race as my favorite pizza joint. Jakes does have more seating and the people are nice there, too.
El Bochinco, on 5th about one or two blocks east of Roosevelt Blvd in the Olney section of the city. The best Colombian food in Philly. This is a small, family run restaurant. The people are great and the food is better. I recommend the lingua de vaca (cow's tongue).
Tina DiDomenico

Mikado for sushi in NJ.
Marathon grill in Center City (several locations) for fast, healthy delicious food (great salads, tuna steak sandwiches, etc) - MAINLY FOR LUNCH
